Since 2001, MERRAC has been also organizing Expert Meetings to discuss and review various topics related to MERRAC activities at a technical level, in order to undertake specific advisory functions relating to scientific and technical issues of the tasks with assistance from NOWPAP RCU, UNEP and IMO, according to the Terms of Reference (ToR) of MERRAC Focal Points Meeting. The NOWPAP Expert Meetings were organized in the form of meetings, conferences, workshops, trainings, etc. once per every two year under the rotational basis of NOWPAP members since 2009.
